Pepes Ikan & Balinese Steamed fish In Banana Leaf

Pepes is a way of processing food (usually for fish) with banana leaves to wrap the fish and its marinade.

  1. How to make the herbs and spices are crushed and added basil leaves, tomatoes and dibalur peppers / coated with carp that have been cleaned
  2. All then wrapped in banana leaves and fixed with 2 pieces of small bamboo at each end
  3. Then, the package is burned (dipepes) in the fire or charcoal embers to dry

  • 1/2 kg of tuna
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 lemons
  • 10 whole red chiles intact
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 bunch of basil leaves, pick the leaves
  • 2 liters of water
